FAQs

Q: What do I wear?

A: This is probably the most popular question I get….and the answer is simple…whatever you feel beautiful and comfortable in. These are usually things you already have in your closet! A bodysuit, an oversized sweater, cropped shirt and high waist panties, a lace or mesh bra and underwear set, a robe, jeans and the list goes on. Melissa will be in contact with you prior to your session to discuss wardrobe and help you with ideas. Your welcome guide will have suggestions on where to shop and we will go over our collaborative mood board prior to and at your session. I also have pieces & accessories from the client closet to add to your session that you are welcome to choose from as well.

Q: I don’t know how to pose and am not a model. Can I still do a photoshoot like this?

A: YES! My clients are not models. They are Mom’s, Business owners, Nurses, Doctors, Teachers, Artists, Corporate Professionals and more. I pose you from head to toe and specialize in posing all body types. If you are female or identify as female, a boudoir experience is for you!

Q: How far in advance should I book my session?

A: Four to six weeks before needing products in hand. Typically clients book 2 to 3 months in advance. I have a wait list for cancellations so please let me know if you are looking to be added to that list!

Q: What do your packages include? How much should I expect to spend?

The most popular amongst my clients is Collection II which includes a luxury 8x8 album, corresponding digitals and 8x12 wall art. Clients tend to spend anywhere from 1500-2500 (on average). Clients are always surprised by how many photos they can’t live without from their session. They think they are going to be the one client that just doesn't get good photos...and they're always proved wrong! We have an incredible selection of additional products that you may upgrade to or purchase separately at your photo reveal appointment.

Q: Does my session fee get applied to my final order?

A: No it does not. You don’t need to decide on what you are ordering or pay until you see your images at your order and reveal appointment.

Q: Do you offer payment plans?

A: Yes I do! If you are interested in a payment plan, please let me know at times of booking,

Q: Is it ok if I want to do my own makeup and hair?

A: It is but I highly recommend taking advantage of getting pampered for the day! I work with makeup artists who align with my style of shooting and are talented with variations of skin tones and textures. If you have skin sensitivities or conditions, or if your hair takes longer than average to style, we will absolutely still be able to accommodate you. Please shoot us an e-mail ahead of time so that we can have the proper tools/artist on hand and also so that we block out the appropriate amount of time. Should you decide you’d like to do your own hair and makeup for your session, simply let us know at the time of booking and we will adjust your session and give you a few photography-specific tips to consider when getting prepared for your session!

Q: Where will I be photographed?

A: Your session typically takes place at my private natural light studio in Valencia, Ca.

Q: What days of the week do you photograph?

A: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday.

Q: Do you travel?

A: I'm not accepting travel sessions at this time Many of my clients have flown in to see me for their session and I can help you plan accommodations if you want to make it into a little vacay for yourself!

Q: How long will my session last?

A: Sessions start at 10am and are done around 2:00pm.

Q: When do I get to see my images?

A: Your one hour reveal appointment is typically scheduled one to two weeks after your session in person or via zoom. This is where you get to see all of your beautiful images and choose which ones you love! This is the only time to pick, order and pay in full.

Q: Do you photograph men or couples boudoir?

A: I don't photograph men or couples at this time. Thank you for understanding!

Q: Do I have to be photographed nude?

A: Absolutely not! This is your session and it's all about what you are comfortable with.

Q: Do my images have to be shared on social media or your website?

A: Not at all. I only share images when I'm given permission. I take privacy and confidentiality extremely seriously.
